Our 2025 Be Bold, Go Gold initiative was focused on expanding our reach and impact by raising awareness and funds. In 2025, we hosted an event at the Florida Capitol, raised more than $35,000, partnered with 14 various community businesses, 11 schools, and engaged with thousands of people across the state and beyond to bring awareness to this cause.
This year, Be Bold, Go Gold is focusing on activating our community and increasing engagement locally! Stay tuned for announcements on local community events, ripple impact items, a new merch store, and more!
Together, in 2026, we can work to support the increasing number of local childhood cancer patients and their families, we can raise more money for critical research to find a cure, and we can make sure that no child or family faces this fight alone!
The Ripple Project offers various levels of sponsorship support. You can download our Sponsorship/Business Partner Packet using the button below. To find out more email [email protected]
In 2025 we partnered with 11 schools in Leon County – this year, we want to double that! We’ll provide guidance, resources, and support to our parent, staff, or student representatives as they lead their campus to be part of Be Bold, Go Gold 2025! Applications and more information are below!
Hi! My name is Katelyn Irwin.
In 2018, when I was in third grade, I was perplexed why schools have a “Go Pink” day for Breast Cancer in October, but there was no mention of Childhood Cancer or ‘Going Gold’ the month prior. After living through my 11-month-old brother’s diagnosis with Leukemia back in 2013 and watching him undergo treatment at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, I recognized the need to raise awareness for Childhood Cancer. I approached my principal, and in 2019, I started a “Be Bold. Go Gold.” campaign at my school (Roberts Elementary).
I raised $2,500 that year through an online fundraising account and selling gold donuts in partnership with Dunkin’. Each year, my efforts have continued to grow with new fundraising endeavors and awareness projects.
Fast forward, by 2023 raised over $100,000 for various charities and research initiatives focusing on pediatric cancer. As the campaign continued to grow, the need to establish our own 501c3 became apparent.
In 2024, The Ripple Project was founded. Be Bold, Go Gold will remain as the signature fundraiser for the organization each September while expanding our awareness efforts year-round and being able to offer grants to families being affected by pediatric cancer for therapies, travel and more.
